The Plotaholics Podcast: Movie Reviews
Each week, authors Shane Wilson and Bryan Tann watch one movie before meeting for an informal and wide-ranging conversation inspired by that movie. Reminiscent of the nights spent debating your favorite films over drinks, The Plotaholics Podcast seeks to capture the organic, shared experience of life as consumers of popular culture. Long-time practitioners of pop culture discussion will understand this one thing: the best conversations rarely stay on topic. So, if you “have too much time on your hands,” or you care immensely for something even if it’s “just a movie,” this podcast is for you. Tune in each week as The Plotaholics begin with a film and let the conversation take them where it will.Join the Discord! https://discord.gg/tyjMeVReAD

Episode 185
The final episode of 2022 is here, and we decided to end the year with the first film in the series of 2022’s most anticipated film.
This week we watch the 2009's sci-fi epic, Avatar.
This film stars Sam Wentworth as Jake Sully (or Jakesooly), a paralyzed Marine sent to the planet of Pandora to pilot his deceased twin brother’s genetically engineered body to blend in with the indigenous people.
This film is currently the top grossing film of all time and among the most polarizing films of our time. So, kick back, relax, and hear our thoughts on this flick.
Fern Gully in Space with a white savior complex, or a film of ally-ship?
Now, Avatar.
